Imagine scented candles, a silk pyjama, some fluffy slippers and a glass of red wine. Kind of like in one of those 90s R&B videos (preferably with Brandy’s The Boy Is Mine apartment setting). Got it? Now put on LeXuS.’ song His Earth and feel how the nostalgia takes over and your inner Janet Jackson come out. Oweeeeee.
LeXuS. is the pseudonym of Maryland-baser singer/songwriter Alexis Hayward. Her voice is smooth, her beats calming, the amount of trumpet just right. In her songs – inspired by Jodeci roadtrip mixes – she talks about boy feelings and good vibrations. The multitalent is not solely responsible for those soothing vocals, but also for the beats. In an interview with Bandwith, she explains that she doesn’t want to focus on just one musical aspect, but rather dives into everything. At just 23, she is a beatmaker, vocalist and co-owns VybeTribe Recordings with California rapper Negus Gold Phoenix – an independent record label that motivates to elevate standards and vibrate on a higher level. That’s my type of woman!
