Crock Taylor | New York, chicken, and ramen rap

“In New York” is how Crock Taylor’s EP Product of Payday starts. Within the first minute of listening to the hip-hop release, Taylor mentions NYC life and chicken—two of my favorite things. Naturally, I was interested. The 7-track product is an insight into what life on the streets of Queens and its surroundings is like. According to Taylor, it contains a lot of puffs and passes, delicious meals, deposit checks, fake groupie love, and musical missions.

Crock Taylor’s flow is on-point, and full of fun puns and clever lines if you listen closely. That, combined with the mood-boosting beats and dope features (hey Shay from Brooklyn, we need more you’s), makes his debut EP a release to be proud of.
